Now some experts are claiming that iPhone 4S customers are using more data in comparison to iPhone 4 or below. It is around three times in comparison to iPhone 3G. This information is very important because the data congestion issues can be one of the major concerns among cell networks during this year. The main reason is the growing usage of data over the phone.
This study has been done by Arieso and the report has been covered by Reuters. It shows that Siri intelligent assistant is the primary driver of the usage of data. It is also more than iPad 2 users because these users are connected with Wi-Fi networks for the consumption of data. The same study was also conducted in 2010. Experts found that iPhone 4S users can download 276 percent of the data utilized by iPhone 3G users. The upload percentage is 320.
Arieso’s CTO himself said that he was using iPhone 4 and after the release of iPhone 4S he was not that much excited to buy it. However once he came to know the data usage he understood what he was missing. The latest and improved antenna of iPhone 4S is very useful as it helps the users to utilize more data. The mobile data usage is now almost doubled if we compare it from the first edition of iPhone in 2007. A number of cloud based services similar to Siri can further increase this data. Therefore 2012 can be more challenging for this industry and they have to work really hard to meet the expectations.
